Testimonials

Danny & Pam from Earle, AR

Mr. Danny received care at Arkansas Continued Care Hospital after spending two months at a short term acute care hospital for respiratory failure due to COVID and sepsis. Mr. Danny came to our facility on a ventilator, trached, receiving tube feedings, and restrained due to confusion.

Mr. Danny was at Arkansas Continued Care for one month and four days where he was able to be weaned off of the ventilator down to 2 liters nasal cannula, weaned off of tube feedings, had improved wound healing and gained back the ability to walk 22 feet with no rests on his day of discharge.

When Mr. Danny was asked about his care here at Arkansas Continued Care Hospital he said, “they never gave up on me. I am truly grateful to everyone and cannot imagine getting better care anywhere else. I give five stars when it comes to caring for your health.”. Mr. Danny said his favorite thing about ACCH was the people. He said, “The staff goes above and beyond. You can tell they care. They renewed my faith in the human race.”  Mrs. Pam, Danny’s wife, said that ACCH is “The best place to come to. I could not ask for more caring, compassionate, and knowledgeable people to care for Danny. We always had plenty of warm blankets or anything that we needed.”

When asked what Danny would tell someone if they were thinking about coming to Arkansas Continued Care Hospital he said, “If you want to get well this is the place to go and if you want to be treated like a human.”.

Mr. Danny’s next step is to go to an inpatient therapy facility where he can receive physical therapy before returning home with his family.

Arkansas Continued Care Hospital is a long-term acute care hospital uniquely designed to provide excellent extended care to patients with complex medical conditions. A long-term care hospital is a bridge between a short-term acute care hospital and a home.

“They never gave up on me. I am truly grateful to everyone & cannot imagine getting better care anywhere else. I give five stars when it comes to caring for your health.”

Wife of Terry Davis, ACCH Patient

My husband received excellent care as a patient of Arkansas Continued Care Hospital (ACCH) of Jonesboro. Their staff is caring and committed to providing the best overall care that promotes healing for the well-being of their patients. They provided consistent and compassionate care for the two months he was in rehabilitation at their facility.

When I had a question regarding his care, if the nurse did not know the answer, they would find the answer. They were consistent in getting back with me in a timely fashion regarding the matter and made sure I didn’t have any other questions regarding his care. They were also good to keep us in the loop regarding his upcoming treatment plan and tests.

I appreciated being able to call his nurse for a daily update on my husband while I was away at work. We were also touched when he received a birthday gift from a couple of his nurses, even including a hand-written card with a nice message.

The care my husband received from ACCH helped heal him from his terrible Covid-19 battle. I highly recommend any family to trust their loved ones’ care into their compassionate and caring hands.

“The staff is very friendly, caring. Made me feel like I was at home. If I needed anything, I got it. I even got a bag of candy on my birthday. If I ever have to go in the hospital, I want to come back here.”

“This place made me happy.

The great care from the staff assisted me in getting better to eventually return home.”

Patient March 3rd, 2022- 2022

I had to have major surgery during the beginning of Covid epidemic. Unfortunately, most home health care resources dried up and I little to no help available from home health personnel for recovery. The surgery, along with me being a T-2 paraplegic, made for many problems trying to recuperate at home. Most of the hospitals were at maximum capacity so with the help of my case manager, we started looking for a place where I could heal and get the proper rehabilitation. A nursing home/rehab was found in my former hometown in Corinth, MS. My time in this facility was eye opening. It was the worst health care I have I have ever received. In fact, I had lost somewhere between 55-65 pounds at this facility from staying so sick. When I was released and sent home, a home health nurse checked on me the day after I returned home and discovered a breakdown wound on lower part of my back that I was totally unaware of. This pressure sore in fact was so deep you could almost see the bone. The care facility I was in never spoke of the pressure ulcer. They sent me home in worse shape than when I had arrived. We tried home health care, but I didn’t have much success in getting better. At that point I found myself in the hospital again when my case manager found Arkansas Community Care Hospital. I was extremely concerned at first about the hospital as I didn’t know much about it and it was so far from my home. After about 2 days, all my concerns vanished. This by far is one of the BEST facilities I have ever been in. I was seen by a doctor every day, weekends and holidays included. ALL the nurses and patient care technicians are well trained and listened to my needs. They are also equipped with a fully staffed ICU. At one point, I had hurt my shoulder and they took me to have a MRI done and the doctors on staff treated me for it as well. They have a very good physical therapy team on site that helped me get back up and going. If needing IV medications, they are equipped to give you those as well. What surprised me most, was that the rooms were cleaned every day. During Covid, I know janitorial staff was hard to come by in other places, however, that was never compromised here. The facility was one of the cleanest hospitals that I've ever been in. None of the before mentioned, I received at the prior location where I was treated. The hospital has a system, called the Daisy Award, where you can complement any of the staff who was particularly helpful or went above and beyond the call of duty. Sadly, I can’t pick just doctor, nurse, or patient care tech. I simply want to nominate each and every one of them for my exceptional care.

Dr. Copeland, CMO

“The first day, my mom wheeled through the doors of this hospital, it was simply a relief. I knew she was going to be taken care of– from housekeeping to CNA’s and nursing– every single person was so kind, never hurried, and genuinely seemed to care. I distinctly remember one day Dr. Copeland told me he would do everything he possibly could medically to save my mom, but he went a step further. He also said each day he would pray for my mom… I can never express how much that meant to me. Every single nurse, every single staff member, and not one single complaint can I express during our stay at Arkansas Continued Care Hospital.”

— Pat Cary, daughter of patient Lucy Wheeler

“I can remember not wanting to get up and do therapy. The therapist would say, “all we are going to do today is sit up in the bed,” and I would sit up in the bed. Then he would say, “all we are going to do today is stand up,” and I would stand up. Every day, I didn’t feel like I could be pushed to healing any more, but before I knew it, I was walking down the halls! I have to also say, Dr. Copeland saved my life. Without him and his care, I truly believe I wouldn’t be here today. He gave me hope when all hope seemed lost.”

– Lucy Wheeler, ACCH patient

“Mrs. Wheeler came back to visit our facility and thank the staff and medical team. While walking around we encountered a family on the elevator that seemed worried and somewhat apprehensive. Mrs. Wheeler's daughter spoke up and said to the strangers, “I have been in your shoes, but don't worry, you couldn’t be in a better place or in better hands.” It was truly a special moment to see a previous patient and patient family member testify to the excellent care they had received as a previous patient at our hospital.”
